You have to stand still. You might be holding music in your hands. You’re in the middle of a group, you can’t really move, and you’re all wearing the same thing! How on earth can you give a personal, specific performance?

In this workshop, choirs will learn how to ground their performances in circumstances and emotions to bring music to life and to harness the power of a group to elevate expression.

“Meaghan came to present a workshop with the Ithaca Children and Youth Chorus (ICYC). It was a transformative day for us, as my singers were immediately able to pick up and use the tools of expression Meaghan so cleverly laid before them. Her exercises are simple in design but rich with potential for exploration. Our only regret was that we didn’t have another rehearsal to go further with her!”
